The five essentials (buy these)
- Travel crib (Lotus Everywhere or BabyBjörn Light). 6 kg, sets up in 15 seconds, fits in overhead bin. Hotel cribs are often recalled, dirty, or unavailable. Your crib = known safe sleep.
- Car seat (Cosco Scenera NEXT, 3.2 kg, FAA-approved). Install on plane seat (window, not exit row) = safe turbulence protection + hands-free parent. Gate-checking = damaged seat. Buy a seat for baby if budget allows; if not, gate-check in padded bag.
